ABOUT ME

Hi there.

My name is Henry Schildbach. I am a Technical Trainer based out of “urban” Alaska. I sit on the SCTE Alaska chapter board, and hold SCTE BPI, BPT, and BDS certifications. My background includes triple and quad-play ISP experence, including being the single point of escalation for all services for multiple communities. This experence allowed me to pivot from the field to the classroom, where I currently reside.

EXPERIENCE

  • Technical trainer

    2020-Present

    I work with internal and external clients to bring training from an idea, through design and development, into facilitation to a wide variety of end users. This training is highly technical, covering company specific systems as well as industry standards with a high degree of precision required.

  • System Technician II / Field Service Technician III

    2017-2020

    I was the single point of contact and escalation for cable TV, cellular, and internet services spanning two islands and several thousand potental customers. This work was performed at all hours of the day, including responding to after-hours outages, line down emergencies, and business escalations. This work included basic instilation tasks at a customers premise, as well as complex IP, RF, terresterial and subsea fiberoptic, cellular, and microwave troubleshooting

  • Field Service Technician II

    2016-2017

    I performed advanced instillation, troubleshooting, and complex projects for a quad-play ISP in a highly challenging enviroment. This work was performed with glowing customer, management, and leadership reviews.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Call Center Migration

2021

A need was identified to design a new training course for onboarding a technical support callcenter from the ground up. Over the course of 6 months, I designed, developed, implimented, and then facilitated multiple 15 day long training modules. These modules were designed to bring a student from entry level, to highly advanced with internal systems, DOCSIS troubleshooting, HFC network implimentation, customer service soft skills, and ticketing softwares. This training was presented successfully by myself to over 100 students and managers, and placed into a standardized format for handoff to other internal teams.

Wooden pole climbing / Pole top rescue / extension ladder

2020-Ongoing

A need was identified for a standardized instructional and certification method for wooden pole climbing, pole top rescue, and extension ladder climbing. I worked with subject matter experts, including external certification partners, to design, develop, and impliment a standardized instructional method for wooden pole climbing, pole top rescue, and extension ladder use on a job site.
